The place I worked at allowed a certain amount of disk space per user. If you reached the limit, you stopped receiving emails. Even deleted mail counted because it took up disk space. Many times I’d refer back to deleted items for needed information. The first thing I would delete was emails with attachments. It never failed that I’d need something that I had to delete. I used to delete mail more than 3 to 4 months old.
