Bloom County 2019 by Berkeley Breathed for June 07, 2018

It’s a pity about Solo. It’s certainly better than what passes for the main trilogy these days. I blame the previous directors messing up, thus creating bad press.

Oh, also, there won"t be another strip for at least a week.

After seeing Solo, thought it could be retitled “50 shades of Grey”. Too feckin dark.

Of the ones I watched the only good parts were the chase scene when the death star got destroyed and the pod race.

Integrity is magical.

I haven’t seen it, but everyone I know who has liked it. And it’s bombing.

But Star Wars fandom is weird. There are all these huge dedicated fans. Who apparently think only 2 out of the 8 movies are any good.

I thought it was great. I would have had a framing scene with Ford as old Solo and Mayhew as (very) old Chewie talking with some kid in the cantina. They’re asked how they met. Cue the rest of the movie.

I actually really enjoyed Solo, although I too didn’t buy the actor as Han Solo. I found it to be a fun adventure movie and it took me away from the troubles of the world for a couple of hours.

Neither is a solution, but perhaps a bit of comfort for each character:

Ha! Solo isn’t making enough money for greedy Hollyworthless. Awww, poor babies.

Find integrity somewhere else, young blabbering dunderhead nincompoop Binkley (referring to classic Bloom County)….

My wife, 13 year old son, and I enjoyed Hans Solo movie. We enjoyed much more than we did Black Panther. Truthfully we wished we had saved our money and had not gone to Black Panther or Avenger’s movie. I can truthfully tell you that we won’t be going to the next Avenger’s movie. But, for people who have not seen the original Hans Solo in the first series of Star Wars, the movie was great, for me it was enjoyable.

Opus, next time you go to the movies, leave Binkley home. He’s a drag and a wet blanket.When I go to a movie like Solo, I look forward to suspending belief, joining the rebellion against the evil emperor and just enjoy myself.

Star Wars Fanboys: Stay in your Mom’s basement and don’t come out. George Lucas created Star Wars. He has turned it over to others. You have done NOTHING to advance the series. It is not your property. So sit still and shut up.
