My guy has a saying – “If man made it, man can take it apart.” Of course that doesn’t mean it’s going to be cost effective to fix it, or that he can put it back together.

not with his phone (or anything Apple branded which are designed so nobody can temper with them, and can not be upgraded), but he may still be able to fiddle with his desktop machine. It may turn to be expensive, but not as expensive as buying car parts. He may start with high end basics (mo-board and cpu), then a high end gpu, and with more money (with time) he may get another of those gpus chained together (sli); then the cooling system, then he can make his own custom case, etc

Changing batteries is easy. My phone is on it’s third one and my wife’s its second. Neither is made by Apple.

So they could have a couple of false screws that would open to some false thingys so a guy could feel like he was tinkering
