As a mathematician, I wish the answer to how wave height is measured would be trigonometry. But it seems to be done with buoys. However, Buzzy Trent, a big wave surfer, once said that, “…waves are not measured in feet and inches, but in increments of fear”.
Two questions. Why did such a large wave hitting New Zealand not make the news? And two, how could 1000 pints of blood save 2.4 million people? It just doesn’t add up.
Now I’m all wistful. I used to give blood regularly (O+ is in high demand) and platelets at times, but after two false positives for syphilis, I can never donate again.
