“Ultimately, the only wealth that can sustain any community, economy or nation is derived from the photosynthetic process – green plants growing on regenerating soil.” Allan Savory

That does bring back memories… I was let go from my last job in December of 2015. It wasn’t a surprise in my case, I had been expecting it for the better part of the previous year. The place had become so toxic I would have quit much earlier, but at my age finding another job that I like is practically impossible (ageism is a real thing), and I did still like what I was doing, just not who I was doing it with or for. I really did seriously consider looking for another position but found sleeping in so much more pleasant… so while it was a bit sooner than I had planned on, I’ve been “retired” ever since. It’s a shame Norm is too young to give that option a try, but we know he will overcome this little set back.

Only way to avoid it is to make yourself too valuable to let go. Highly skilled or licensed jobs are best.
