My husband got the new shirts after his Dad died. Wore them a couple of times, and then they fell apart in the washing machine. Cloth got so old, everything fell apart. Just wear and enjoy them when you get them. What a waste.
Actually I wear things for a while too. I have clothes from 20 years ago. The only time I get rid of things is when I find that I haven’t worn them in years or they don’t fit me. No point in taking up valuable closet space.

My father-in-law had “new” shirts still in the package that were 20 yrs old. I do have a few things – my favorite “working in the yard” sweatshirt that is at least 17 yrs old. Cuffs are a little ratty, some paint that matches the house, grommet for the hoody string that is loose, faded– but I still love it. Like the Energizer Bunny–keeps going and going and goin an goi an go…..
Wearing the “old” ones is just fine, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t wear the new ones too. I have 20-year old clothes that I love to wear, but I also get rid of the white shirts when they get that not-so-attractive golden hue (in the pits area) or when there appears a new opening that was not there originally. Comfort is no reason to look sloppy or lazy.

I’m wearing 20-year-old shirts, and they’re the coziest. Only thing better is my 23-year-old sweater!

Okay, this is definitely a guy thing. The ladies (I almost said “chicks”) just don’t get it.

Sounds like my dad. And actually, I have a few like that, too. When it’s good and comfy- it just is. ;)

Yes, I know. :) (It irks my wife, too, which is mostly why I keep doing it. Right?)
