Reminds me of a later issue of “the Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck”, when his sisters talk about Scrooge and his newfound wealth:

“Poor Scroogey is as crazy as a loon!” “Rich people aren’t crazy, dear; they’re eccentric.” “Poor Scroogey is as eccentric as a loon!”

Back on topic: I figure that Lila will be found innocent because she was just trying to recover property that Metromart acquired illegally. But she’ll be fired by her current employer because she lost the thing in the first place. And after she’s found innocent, Metromart will hire her back because she knows the formula (she’s been studying it.).

Holy ghostkeepr, it’s a comic strip! Some people read it to have a chuckle, not contemplate the injustices of the world!

….everybody starts out reading ‘the funny papers’ for a chuckle, but every now and then a subject that some people are passionate about comes up and they have to comment….

or maybe they’re just a bunch of grouchy people

You are guilty until proven innocent and then you are still guilty. After all you wouldn’t have been charged unless you were, would you?

Metromart will not press charges. They couldn’t handle the negative publicity surrounding just what exactly Lila and Drew were trying to “steal”…
