As many of you know, Queen of America mentioned here at Ten Cats on Friday that her beloved Puddin’ Pop had to cross the Rainbow Bridge. I’ve asked her if she would like to have some pictures posted here along with how Puddin’ came into her life. The following is from QoA:

“The first photo is the day we brought her home. The second is almost two years and one week later.
We got her in April 2016. She was 7 yrs old and had been dumped at the shelter because her owner, who got her as a kitten. “just didn’t want her any more”.
She was a big cat, too big to sit in a cage. We brought here home to foster until a friend in San Diego could take her.
Two days after we got her, I saw the signs of kidney stones. Having been through it with Moose, I got to the vet right away. Yep, there were stones, but they were tiny and the vet hoped getting her on the same food as Moose would dissolve them. It did. But, she still needed an x-ray twice a year to make sure they hadn’t come back.
Three months later my friend said she’d changed her mind about taking Puddin’. By then she was attached to me and Brad loved her so she was ours. She was a good kitty – she never barfed, got sick, caused trouble or was demanding. All she wanted was love and to sit next to me.
She stayed a big cat even though she never got snacks or people food. So when I noticed she was a little thinner a month or so ago, I wondered why. It wasn’t enough to worry me, though. But then about 10 days ago I could tell she was really losing weight. I could feel her spine and when she was sitting up, I could see her leg bones. I called to make an appointment with one vet but he couldn’t see her for a week. I waited two days and called a second vet. I took her in the next day, which was this past Wednesday. He said she was diabetic and we started the insulin shots. He said she should perk up with-in 24 hours….
… She didn’t. She got worse. Thursday night she couldn’t stand or walk – she was like a drunken sailor. I called Dr Susan who has had, and currently has, diabetic cats. She told me get sugar into her. We don’t own sugar, only Splenda. We don’t have regular pancake syrup, only the sugar free kind. What we DO have is home bottled honey from a friend up in WA. We started using our fingers to rub it on her gums and tongue. It didn’t work. I melted some, cooled it down and used a syringe to get it into her. Nothing.
I sat up with her all night until Brad got up for work at 3 AM. By then my eyeballs were burning and I went to bed. Was up at 6, called the vet at 8 and took her in at 9. He took blood and it was bad news. Really bad.
He explained that she was what they called a “brittle” diabetic, which means it’s uncontrollable. The prognosis was that she was never, ever going to get better. We talked for a while, I called Brad, and we all made the decision together to let her go. I stayed with her, holding her, talking to her and kissing her little furry head.
The night before, I think Moose and Scooter knew her time was up. They circled her, cuddled her, licked her head. They had never done that – ever. They did that all night. She was kind of a loner cat. When I got up a 6, they left her side and that was that.
I know this is way to long for posting so feel free to edit as much as you want.”

Good morning and happy Caturday, Graham Crackers.
I hate to tell you, Chesney, but dogs were around prior to 1542.
Well, Paul has survived his first week of radiation and chemo with no effects but a slight grumpiness, which is to be expected.

So Jack is as innocent as Oliver!! A good laugh before I start my day. 5:20 and I must get out in the garden before the 100+ heat kicks in.
