I’m sure certain thoughts crossed Dad’s mind.

This is a bit inaccurate. Most zoos don’t keep crocodilians in outdoor enclosures, at least not year round. They’re usually exhibited in heated indoor vivariums.

Can’t wait to see what happens if they get to the elephants.

That looks more like an alligator farm set up.

The awkward silence fell and the father hesitated too long and just as his wife was about to come over he took the little hellion away. His temptation was ended. But will he regret it?

You don’t prop your kid on the wall around zoo animals. A stupid woman did that a few years ago with her little kid at a Cape Hunting Dog enclosure. Predictably, the kid fell into the pit and was killed by the dogs. I still wonder if she did that on purpose (perfect crime, and she could sue for it, too).

The zoo might not throw anyone in there, but that doesn’t mean I won’t.

Make sure you visit the jaguar enclosure.

Luckily for all involved, it wasn’t the crocs feeding time.

I read this more as Calvin doesn’t want to stay at a zoo where they don’t throw people in for food.

Where is Hobbes? Is he asleep in the car?

Even if holding, I wouldn’t risk my kid sitting on the fence if there are alligators on the other side.
