Our eldest daughter did the “he was like and she goes” routine when she was in school. I told her she needed to listen to the higher-ups where she worked. It didn’t take long to realize she needed to speak English is she was going to get ahead. (It is pretty obvious that people who speak ESL use better grammar than many native speakers.)
