Apparently, any unhappiness on the part of a husband is considered irrelevant. The wife is supposed to be the Center of the Universe, and only her feelings matter.
This strip brings back of very fond memories of ‘discussions’ with my wife which ended in approximately the same way—when things went wrong, they were my fault ! ! !! !
House buying had definitely changed. Helped my parents look for a smaller house. They would look at a house, like it and then want to wait a few days thinking about it. When they decided to make an offer it was always too late. My Dad just couldn’t understand what was going on….houses didn’t sell like that last time he bought a house….50 years ago! He said he couldn’t believe people would make an offer so quickly after looking at a house. Direct quote, “What is wrong with people these days?”
I have always felt that, usually, since it’s the woman who will spend the majority of time in the home, it should be her decision that carries the most weight in the purchase.
However, when we built the 2nd & 3rd floor additions on our house in the city, I was retired and my wife was working, so I exercised a bit more influence on the design, fixtures and furniture than I would have in the past.
When we built our little cottage in the country, although we consulted on everything, the final decisions were my wife’s.

Since Phil “made the decision”, it will be his fault if the house doesn’t work out. Smooth move, Georgia.

Best for the wife to choose – after all, the female half rules the nest. Unhappy female in the house makes an unhappy home.

If Phil doesn’t like this house he needs to say so. He’s going to live in it too! If he does then go for it! No reason to wait.
