Elizabeth is showing no remorse for having hit Elly in the head with the bear, even though it clearly upset her. Because the Pattersons have a “never punish Elizabeth” policy, Michael is assigned the blame. When Michael did the same stunt, he got spanked. Amazingly the bear is given back to Elizabeth, so she has been re-armed and loaded. Will Elizabeth throw the bear at some other adult’s head? I would put the odds of that at 100%.
Sure didn’t work when she blamed imaginary big kids who “stole” the milk. Elizabeth is getting less cutesy-pootsy as the strip is going on, so it stands to reason more will be expected of her and the blame game won’t work in the future.
In our household, absolutely NO throwing of anything was allowed in the house. Not even something relatively simple like tossing a pencil to a sibling who was wanting to start homework. (We could throw balls outside, as long as we were away from the house and any unsuspecting younger siblings). My father was a doctor, and he had very strict rules about avoiding anything that could cause an injury. We knew that if we threw something, even if it didn’t hit anybody, it would be confiscated, and it was anybody’s guess if we would ever get it back. I happen to still agree, though maybe not quite as strictly. But there is no excuse at all to be throwing a toy and hitting people. “I didn’t mean to” or “somebody made me do it” won’t work well to heal a bruise, or injury from a fall, or an eye injury.
When our first grandchild was born, I immediately laid claim to the ‘fun’ job, to be the ‘Designated BAD Example.’ Over the years, I have fought off many attempts of others trying to take that job away from me, but so far, it is still MINE. But, for some strange reason, it also somehow makes me the ‘favorite’ relative.

makes me wonder now what “good examples” will Michael give his future second younger sister April

Is there anything more touching for a sibling to say? I think not.

Just wait until Michael gets her grounded a few more times; she’ll change her mind then!

Reminds me of the screaming monkey toy. Used it a few times in the office on nodding co-workers.

Anybody remember the time (much younger) Michael threw Super Teddy at Dad’s IRS forms? That was a classic!

That sinking moment…when the fighting sibs suddenly become allies. Like pirates.
