“It’s not a loan if I never pay you back” — perfect line to remember. My policy is never to loan money to someone with whom I have a relationship unless I’m willing to give up the money, the relationship, or both.
I never loan money in my head. I figure if I “loan” someone money, I’ll probably never see it again, and I have to be o.k. with that to make the loan. That way, no lost friends or family members. If I am repaid (and often I am), it’s just a delightful surprise.

Actually the Buckster is right which is why I never “loan” $$ to anyone. And remember, family “loans” are the worst kind.
