By the way, if the lady of the house wants the toilet seat down, why does she have to depend on the man of the house to put it down when he is done? I live in a house with a wife and two daughters. I started to just leave the seat down, until it was unanimously decided I lift the seat, they lower the seat. Everyone’s happy (and dry).
The most valuable lesson my mother ever taught me was NOT to expect the seat to be down. So all my life, I truly never cared if it was up. If I want it down, I put it down, and I am not at all annoyed.

Wait until you see him flush the toilet.

No way Moses was married. He wandered the dessert for 40 years without asking directions.

And who wrote the rule that the man is to put it down? Why doesn’t the woman put it up?

Toilet seats? Did the Hebrews have porta-pottys?

Come on. It’s not like that rule is chiseled in stone.

It’s an outhouse, woman, it doesn’t have a toilet seat.Alternate response: It gets kinda messy doing your business with the toilet seat down.

Seat schmeat; the lid should be down when it’s not in use. An open toilet is just gross not to mention the yuck you spray all over when you flush.

Actually, it is easier to put the seat down than to raise it. (going with gravity)
