It might not work considering many of them are behind thick glass these days.
Go to a Loves, Conoco or a Kum & Go while on the interstate and you will be dealing with real people behind “regulation” counters and not the fortified pill boxes (minus the pills). Late night is best for sparse attendance in these places. Granted, they have cameras going all the time but the caterpillar or some other disguise would be utilized to hide the real face. The classic Groucho glasses would at least give the robbery victim a laugh while clenching their butt cheeks as they stand staring straight down some cold blue steel.
Spying the railroad-crossing sign in the background, I just had the best giggle imagining what might come next in an alternative universe where this strip is produced by Jay Ward Productions: Sawtooth trades the porn ‘stache for a Snidely Whiplash waxed curl and Tracy rides in on Faithful Steed to exclaim “Oh no, Grimm’s been tied to the tracks!” Chief Patton arrives and urges “Don’t just do something, Tracy, stand there!” Of couse it’s up to Tess to regain consciousness, race to the scene, free Grimm, and team up with Lizz to apprehend Sawtooth. The story arc ends as Tracy gets a medal for valor…
Sawtooth is an ungrateful lawnmower! If Grim(m) hadn’t knocked Tracy on the back of his head (an admittedly easy thing to do these days!) Colgateboy would be riding in the back of a paddy wagon just about now!
Well, I guess they were heading for the train station, but my first thought upon seeing the RR Xing sign – After doing his number on Grimm, ST leaves the van on the tracks, hoping the cops will believe they both got smashed by an approaching train. This is a scheme several DT villains have tried over the years. Once Tracy gets there, he will be able to determine that only one body is in the demolished van, but ST doesn’t know that.
No, I think Grimm and Sawtooth must be related. If they didn’t have some sort of close connection, Sawtooth’s last panel remark would have been: “You’re wrong… I’M going to kill you !!!”
What happened to Sawtooth’s “disguise” between yesterday and today. And, I did say that Grimm’s future would look very Grim in the next couple of days, yesterday.
Seeing the railroad crossing sign and a partial traffic light box… I wonder if there will be an ending ala the “Sweatbox” story and both Grimm and Sawtooth meet their end by a train ?
ok, so I see the train logo in one panel, a light in the other……so it seems no accident…..but obviously the van is stopped before the light, so how the train will run over them is beyond me. Let’s add that if it is at the station, the speed will be next to nothing, allowing both for it TO stop in time, and not do nearly the damage of a speeding one anyways.
I like the idea, suggested way up above, I think first by BelaWhiskers, that Sawtooth will not be bothered to use his signature Teeth of Death on Grimm. He’ll simply conk the guy, drag him over behind the wheel, and leave the all-too-conspicuous van and Grimm seemingly stalled on the tracks for the next incoming train to dispose of, while he makes off, on foot until he can hijack a car. The cops will find the van with Grimm’s mangled body and figure Sawtooth was never in it with Grimm, at least until CSI forensics notes some of Grimm’s blood on the passenger side and concludes that Sawtooth was present. It won’t make all that much difference. The question is, can the now-twice failed hitman make a getaway from Tracyville, or will the MCU dragnet sweep him up?

Well, it looks like they’re at the train station, but I think that’s the last we’ll see of Grimm.

Not a nibble
Nor a taste
Sawtooth takes a bite.
Grimm will never
Gamble now
Odds are just not right.
This is the place
They shall part
Sawtooth on the run.
He should have stayed
In hot tub
Would have had more fun.

Looks like Sawtooth is going to arrange for Grimm to catch a train – the hard way.
