Except the teenagers above would not say"said". It would be “he went”.

Same as “No problem” when it should be “You’re welcome”.

I’ve growled at my grandson so many times . . . now that he’s working, he suddenly realizes that the Big Wigs don’t use that work. He’s working on it, but it’s slow going.

Don’t mind hearing such conversations, I just object to hearing ‘young ladies using ’words’ that I have only heard from drunk bikers ! ! ! !

It replaced “you Know”

Oh good grief. Hipsters, hippies, and beatniks have been using ‘like’ this way since the 1950’s. Watch some of the old TV shows like The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis (1959-1963).

Yeah, I guess the term my-Dad had the most problem putting-up with was, “funky”, from his then much younger nephew, as in: “Geez, Uncle Cecil—-that’s a really-funky-green color on your car!” (And even then, he still-didn’t like it!)☺

mmm-hmmmp. Same conversation my father had with my brother back in the late ’50s.
