    Evening in Parainen

    https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Dora_Wahlroos_-_Ilta_Paraisilla_(1898).jpg

(best viewed by Google Chrome, which can automatically translate most pages as necessary) has info and links that point to info about this painting.

    http://www.turuntaidemuseo.fi/?cat=80&lang=fi&mstr=42

    http://www.ts.fi/kulttuuri/1074255570/Dora+Wahlroos+laajentaa+kultakauden+taiteen+kuvaa

both have Finnish info about this artist (again, Chrome can automatically translate), perhaps in addition to what’s pointed to by the first URL – its Artist pointer defaults to her English Wikipedia page, if that’s your language; but, her Finnish (Suomi under Languages there) page has more about her. This is the first work by her used here.

Again, a larger strip image is shown by clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #1993 (July 10, 2018) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment.

Ingrid couldn’t wait to rat-tail Margrethe’s backside with the wet towel she’d been carrying, ever since Margrethe made the snide comment about that pink blouse making her look fat.

“Parainen” for the fjords? (I know, Finland doesn’t have fjords, and Parainen has more syllables than “pining”, but it just seemed funny to me. I know, it’s late, I’ll go to bed now!
