I hope Dad gave a piece to Sophie, otherwise that would count as cruel and unusual punishment. My dogs would never let me hear the end of it if I tried that.
We rescued a puppy off the street at about 6 weeks old, he had been poisoned, lit on fire (he had fireworks TIED to him), had a horrible case of fleas so bad you couldn’t see what color he was and he had parvo. The vet said he would be dead in a week. My husband took off for his vacation and saved that little puppy. (We named him Buck).
For the first 2 years of his life he would not eat dog food (probably how he was poisoned) so we had to feed him human food by hand and even after that it took a little while longer before he was comfortable eating kibble. His favorite by far was cheese (not to worry, he didn’t get tons, he got a lot of meat, though).
That puppy is going to be 13 years old next month. He is still doing great, and grew up to be a very LARGE dog.

I suppose Sophie would have eaten the entire block.

Doug’s friend looks like someone tried to cross-breed Stitch and Grover. Should I recognize him from somewhere?
