If you REALLY want to shake them up, ask them how much the “penny postcards” are now!! I did that thirty years ago and the gray haired postal clerk lady almost choked!!! ( It was a trick I learned from my Mom with her sarcastic Irish wit! )
Now that I think of it I can’t understand why I did’t buy the ‘cheap’ forever stamps when they first came out … I think it was something about having food in the fridge and for the house … you know, those piddling and aggravating minor expenses!
truecanadianliberal, if you hook up your TV to a computer, you can watch shows on TV that you downloaded on the computer. My son does this, but then he’s a computer techie. This is a separate computer with a large hard drive that can hold a lot of shows. If you know a computer savvy person, they can help set you up to connect a computer to your TV.
“Private” corporations want to do in the USPS to “privatize” it– further- it’s already a “corporation”, eliminating home delivery, not just dropping Saturday. NOT EVERYONE HAS EMAIL! or the internet. I can’t get my medication by email! My delivery via USPS took 3 days from the east coast to my remote area of Oregon. We’ve been waiting THREE WEEKS for a DHL package- from the date it was supposed to arrive! UPS is pretty good, and FedEx will deliver when they get a full truck, but USPS is faster and cheaper than either of the “private” enterprises– still.
Now, on the positive side, those resisting the START treaty as they complain about the post office, live in large cities where THEY will be targeted by the nuclear missiles- to quote “W”- “bring ‘em on!”
@truecanadianliberal: I use dual monitors. This lets me watch streaming vidoe on one (30 inch LCD TV) and still browse or run an app with just one computer. Or select a different input to the TV and watch DVDs.

USPS kinda amazes me; i mean how far would YOU carry anything for 44¢?
I kinda worry though, about what they’re going to do when Netflix totally abandons dvds for streaming.

Truecanadianliberal – we have those stamps here in Canada too. Here they’re called “permanent stamps.”

@Truecanadianliberal: There are several ways now to stream directly to the TV, especially with NetFlix. XBox, WII, or just their special box.

truecanadianliberal - I don’t have an Xbox or a WII either, I just know they would work.
