The act of seeking a political office should be prima facie evidence that one is unqualified to hold it.

^ The difference between G.W.B and Obama is that Democrats against Bush weren’t willing to harm the country to win political points, Republicans against Obama are.

The only good politicians are the ones taking up space in a cemetery.

We must remember that for evey “crooked” national politician, there are many good local elective office holders (and, unfortunately, some bad local ones [Bell, CA, as an example]). Just because someone wants to run for office doesn’t totally mean they are unqualified. (In some cases, I will admit they are not qualified.)

I think Jeb Bush and Al Gore are two of todays brightest politicians. Both decided they didn’t want to tarnish their popularity by running for President.
