Jeannie was just being snarky, but it’s a great idea, nonetheless! Today’s children don’t truly understand this, but I, as a 70-something DO! My dad, who ‘passed’ several years ago, left me with a couple of Christmas “popcorn” tins full of photos he’d taken over the years in his travels in the Air Force. I’ve no clue as to the location or identity of any of them and only a vague idea as to time and date of the photo because some developing agencies placed a “date” stamp on the picture when they developed them.

I continue to keep them but I REALLY should throw them away because, without an “anchor” to reference them, they are completely useless to anyone and I probably should just burn them! So sad! They obviously had some level of importance to my Father – he wouldn’t have kept them, otherwise! But now, I’ll never know.

It could have been worse, she could have written Jeannie’s First Husband on them. My grandmother was considerate to write the names on all of her old photos, now because of Ancestry.com, I have been able to help long-lost relatives identify people. A relative sent me one photo and asked if I knew who they were, it was my grandparents and my mother as a toddler.
