Better not get those punny pastries again El.

We have seen enough comic strips over the years of the Pattersons’ eating to know that Elly’s table manners are no better than Elizabeth’s. What we are really seeing here is that Elly is trying to show off her parenting skills to Connie.

Where is Mike? It seems like the perfect instance for a tonguey laugh with hands in pockets.

Elly would probably have better success demonstrating the proper table manners—-and then keeping them consistent.

Ah, Sunday morning and doughnuts. That’s the way it almost always was at my house growing up…which is why I can barely stand them.

Mmm. Time for Dunkin Donuts!

when working weekends at a local neighborhood c-type store, the krispy creme guy left the donuts in the freezer. when I opened the store on saturday morning, I started a fresh pot of coffee and would buy a 6 donut box of chocolate glazed yeast donuts, which would go in the microwave, whole box, just long enough to make them thawed and edible. would graze on those donuts and coffee or soft drinks until I left work that nite. I was a chocoholic and that was a wonderful treat to me.

I’m still wearing the donut I ate two weeks ago, around the hip area.

Elly says, “Elizabeth—you know you’re supposed to ask first.” I am not sure Elizabeth knows this. We have seen a few times where Lizzie thinks it’s perfectly okay to help herself to things, even at other people’s houses.

Mom sure knows how to spoil a cup of coffee! Terrible! (and the doughnut too)
