We live in a tourist town on the shore also, so I can understand her animosity towards the tourists. The second week of September is our favorite time NO tourists and you can get into the restaurants easily. Yes I know without them the town would dry up and blow away, but ya got to have something to biotch about. :-)
Yah, it’s the end of tourist season in SF and the start of good weather. And the end of tourist season in our new town. Thank you for coming and leaving your money behind. See you next year.
This time of year, people used to stand on the north side of the last overpass on the Maine Turnpike and wave to the departing tourists in the southbound lane. Don’t know if they still do.

Biggest crabapples I’ve ever seen! Where I come from they are the size of golf balls.
