We had to hang and retrieve the bed sheets and try to fold them in 20 degree weather. I still do a “Brrr” with that memory. Cooold fingers.

We used to air dry outside but all the pollen brought in the house on the hanging clothes really increased our allergies.

We used to hang out our wash in an effort to save electricity. Now we have solar. Good improvement.
