I have several friends who are atheists. They are very moral people and have an interest in the well being of other people. When you think about it, what’s in it for them if there is no heaven for them? They are doing it simply because it is the right thing to do and not for the “reward.”
On the other hand, I know some Christians who go to church every Sunday, sing “Hallelujah” and then live the rest of the week as if God does not exist.
It is of little comfort to me that it is not my end of the boat that is sinking. We are all in this together. All we have is each other.
. . . I recently discovered “Brother Juniper”, which was one of the first accepted religious comic, now retired. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_McCarthy_(cartoonist) I’m glad that I can now enjoy the wisdom and humor of “Francis”, here. :hearts: :)

I’m not sure that’s an orthodox theological position, despite the Other Francis’ words, but I like it.

We, human, are greater than God! We always tell God to do what we want.
