Oops, sorry to those who replied – cat on computer deleted my entire earlier post when I tried to modify a later one. Couldn’t find the article from this week, but here are two other studies pro and con regarding people who complain (and still aggravate the rest of us when they do). Either one may be taken with the same grain of salt as any other study.

We’re were b.s.ing the other day about how long we’d want to live into retirement and after giving it something serious (all right, half assed thought) said “I’m only fifty and I don’t WANT to live to retire. If things keep on with everybody being offended by everything they don’t agree with and DEMANDING that things be done their way it’ll be a long couple of years hoping for the peace death will bring.” My friends sat in silence…as long as it took to take another swig of beer and to a man decided I was right. When did we get to the point where we have to be so tolerant of everybody and everything that we can’t tolerate ANYTHING that doesn’t agree with our little world view of inclusiveness? Live and let live…unless you think different than me. Then die scum die!

As many have said,if only it worked that way. Especially the head exploding bit. But, IRL, people who are offended rarely come up to you…they’re the physically but not mentally evolved versions of the kiddies who run to teacher, or mommy. In this case, a lawyer, your boss or a media person looking for a sensationalized story

Often wonder how they would react if you told them that their being temper-tantrum about being offended actually offended us…. (somehow I doubt they would care)

No matter how considerate you try to be there will always be some folks that take offense. So F-em if they can’t take a joke the way it was intended.
