I’m sure this thread of comments may be confusing to many. Keep in mind that Night-Gaunt professes to be an atheist. (This is not name-calling; he himself has stated quite clearly on comment boards elsewhere that he thinks “God” is a man made concept.) I do not know what Danizier professes, but it is clear from his comments here, and the links he provides, that he has a very low view of Scripture. He apparently holds the view that writers such as Luke made up stories or events to conform to a viewpoint.
It is certainly true that the teachings of Jesus Christ can be difficult to understand. However, there is a huge difference between “reinforce” (as Night-Gaunt misquotes) and “fulfill” -Strong’s Concordance says that the Greek word here means “satisfy, execute (an office), finish, accomplish, complete, supply.” Jesus went to the cross for all of us to fulfill the law, because we couldn’t do it ourselves. He died and He rose again and He calls us to Himself for salvation. And He called Paul to be His apostle. Peter, who walked with Jesus for three years, calls the writings of Paul “scripture” (II Peter 3: 15-16)
Paul was not a “renegade apostle” He was a man who wanted everyone to know the “width and length and depth and height. . . of the love of Christ” (Ephesians 3: 18-19)

Don’t forget Paul’s restriction on things that they tell you were sacrificed to idols.

Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

Remember that Joshua/Jesus didn’t come to end the law, but to reinforce it. So all those not following the dietary laws are in deep trouble.

I guess gluttony — one of the seven deadly sins — does not apply to the reverend here
