I remember the first time I went clothes shopping with a new GF. Hit the first store, found some slacks that fit, bought all four colors: Done. She went into shock. When she came out of it, we went to another store, same choices, ditto 3rd, 4th, and she gave up.
I’m female. I go to the store, find what I need, buy it. If I can’t afford it, I find out how much I need, go home, save up, go to the store, find it, buy it. I hate trying things on, and I browse in catalogs or online from the comfort of my chair. That stereotype about women shoppers is either based on a small sample, or I’m strange – take your pick.

Shopping leads to mental checklists of what you want to buy, so shopping has something to do with buying…

I hate it when we go into Costco and brother has to check things out instead of going right to what we need.

Broom Hilda’s idea of shopping is pretty much what she wants to do when going after a man.
