I remember being told about the hole in the ozone layer in elementary school, back in the 60s. People pooh-poohed it back then, as we were also being taught that “nature heals itself.” Yes, it does, if it’s given a chance, but if man is destroying much faster than it can recuperate, it doesn’t.

We were also told back then that the technology for electric cars already existed.

Dunno ’bout the planet Calvin, but till you are in it it is always worth fighting for!

I have a cartoon clipping on my fridge of Rush Limbaugh interviewing Gaia, the earth goddess…“What do you think of this global warming hoax?” he asks. She smiles and says, “Oh, I’ve been hot before. It’s you humans who’ll have to find a new planet.”

I remember when this ran 30 years ago and the planet was ending. I remember watching Ark II on Saturday mornings 40 years ago when the planet was ending. I’ve been told about when my parents were told not to have more than one kid (or any!) 50 years ago when the planet was ending.

1988 and still relevant today. Sigh.
