Since flowers look nothing like snakes, that doesn’t seem to be that big a development. I can also notice an elephant quicker than a flower, do I have special neurons for that too?
My mate, a cat, who was not a primate, however while I was installing some track lighting a piece was left on the floor and she was obviously afraid of it.
Always felt that way about BMW drivers. Based on my own anecdotal data, they are worse than Mercedes drivers (which isn’t to say Mercedes drivers don’t drive like they own the roads and ‘lesser’ cars should just get out of their way). BMW seems to attract a certain class of people…one might call them ‘presidential’ class since 2016.
My Cadillac owing boss was once driving us between towns when someone passed us. Boss floored his ride and repassed the offender. He looked over at me and said, “Nobody passes a Cadillac.”
Very true about BMW and Merscedes, but you forgot Range Rover. It must have something to do with the price of the vehicle. I’m just glad there aren’t too many around here.
LOL I just saw in the news the other day that an 18 wheeler pushed a Mercedes a mile down the road after the car cut him off. 80,000 pounds won’t yield to egos.

So, for the 430 million years before that, none of the other vertebrates were attacked by daffodils. Amazing.

And if the candle failed to light, the sound of flint striking steel probably accomplished the alarm clock’s goal.

The more expensive the car,the the more entitled the driver feels about themselves.

We used to have an alarm clock that would flash a light when it went off. It was designed for the hearing impaired.

@jogger2: Yes, I went out with guy when I was in college who had one, and it worked quite well. (I’m not telling how I found that out, though. ;-) )

Articles abound on the internet about snake-driven primate visual evolution. https://io9.gizmodo.com/are-humans-hardwired-to-detect-snakes-1453865235

Most snakes ARE faster than flowers! Does anyone edit this thing?
