“If you blink, you miss it” definitely applies to Fall in the American south. Decent Fall weather doesn’t usually start in TX until the end of October, and ends roughly around the end of November, most years.
I am in New England. Recent weather has been fall-like. But summer is not done with us. I feel certain we still have some 90+ days ahead. Winters have been getting shorter, and with significantly less snowfall the past several years. We ALWAYS used to have measurable snow on the ground before Thanksgiving. Not any more.
Here we get 5 months of summer (May to Sept. inclusive) Autumn/Fall is October to January, Spring is Half of February, March and April, leaving about 2 weeks of winter when the temp drops to 12ºc in the day and to 5ºc at night …. such hardship.
Oh, I didn’t like seeing this comic. We’ve just started with cooler weather and some rain storms in North Idaho. NOT looking forward to snow. Like every year there are those who say it’s going to be a mild winter and those that say it’s going to be a bad one. Only Mother Nature knows for sure.
I prefer to call it “autumn” for the few weeks that it lasts here in South Texas. Usually hot an sticky or now mild winters. Freezing for short periods have become sparse indeed.

In Europe, we get a bit of summer back next week, after that, it’ll be fall untill december, we’d have to blink very long to miss it.

For any Brits out there: “Fall” is American for “autumn”. Not sure what the Canadians say.

Fall used to be a nice long season here in NY, so did spring, winter just comes on hard makes everything dead and ugly for 8 months!

Same is true for Spring, it seems like it’s always summer or winter here.(e.central Alabama).

In Charleson SC, leaves are falling all year. Some turn colour and drop around October/November. Then we get a cold snap in January/February.

Autumn is my favorite season. not as hot as summer, not as cold as winter and not as windy as spring.
