He got it right! The libs keep calling it “tax cuts for the rich”. These tax rates have been in place for 7 years. How can extending them for everyone (even the ones who create jobs) be called “tax cuts for the rich”? The libs don’t know how to be honest. It is amazing that BHO now seems to understand raising taxes will slow the recovery.

^ Honest? The cuts expired, as intended. They will have to be reauthorized with new legislation or the rates revert to what they were before the TEMPORARY cuts. Therefore, the new legislation is in fact, authorizing tax CUTS. Sheesh. This ain’t rocket science.

gbrucewilson: the tax cuts were going to be extended by everyone in DC for people making less than $250k. This is a matter of public record. Please get a grip with reality.

There is something wrong in a government where they who do the most have the least. There is something wrong when honesty wears a rag, and rascality a robe; when the loving, the tender, eat a crust, while the infamous sit at banquets. Robert G. Ingersoll (1832-1899). Think about it!

As automation replaces “blue collar” jobs, and special status visas allow foreign nationals to take over “white collar” jobs, so the few at the top can make even MORE “profit”- while their tax break is a little ridiculous, isn’t the SOURCE of those profits, like LOST AMERICAN JOBS even slightly more significant?

I believe it was a mistake to so thoroughly dismantle the country’s manufacturing base. It went too far. Yes, companies can make cheap things even more cheaply in China and elsewhere, but was it really necessary to move virtually every customer service call center overseas? The kinds of work that is now being outsourced could be middle class jobs, the recent spate of companies moving work overseas this very year includes some mid-level client services and accounting type of jobs to Uruguay, for God’s sake. (PriceWaterhouseCoopers). I wish clients of some of these firms would say no more, and send their business to a company that wants to invest in and supports America.

I don’t understand people who think the rich will give jobs to the poor yet themselves think all the unemployed (if you are looking for a job, you are unemployed, right?) are crack addicts.

So the poor are the ones hiring people?

“Oh look, my paycheck is the same. I must have gotten a tax cut”. If your paycheck is the same after Jan 1 as it was before, you did not get a tax cut. Is that too conplex to understand?
