Poncho: My master put up missing posters of me! Poncho: I gotta get back but I can't remember where it is! How am I gonna find my way back home? Poncho: Dang, I got the machine. Boomer: Did he put music in the background? Poncho: No. Boomer: It's so corny when they put music in the background.

Okay. So the number is 555-686—- what was that last digit? I cannot call Chazz and tell him I found Poncho.

Poncho—leave a message!

What would that message sound like? Woof woof woof? On the other hand, they do have conversations….
I love how all TV and cartoon telephone numbers start with 555.

I am glad that it seems people have stopped trying to be creative when they leave a message for people when they are not around to answer the phone. I have called friends, in the past, and have to listen to the whole family singing some inane song before I can say that I called. Although Chazz could have left a stirring rendition of “Who Let The Dogs Out!”

Where’d he get the quarter to make the call?

Your call is important to us. Press “1” to be put on hold forever, press “3” to be put into the endless menu loop.

Yes, Who Let The Dogs Out would be great answering machine muzak in this situation.

Not only is music playing in the background corny its downright annoying. As a recruiter I don’t know how many times I’ve called an applicant only to hear some super sexy song playing in the background about wanting to lick your body all over and just hung up without leaving a message. You might like the song that sounds like it should be backing music for a porn movie but is it really the image you want to present when looking for a job? Hey I love sexy songs too but you won’t hear them on my answering machine.

To cdward, 555 is the prefix ATT assigned for non existent numbers for just that reason. Until then, people would actually call the phone numbers from t v shows and radio shows and lots of people got angry lol.

“Hi, I can’t take your call right now, I’m out looking for my lost dog. Leave a message, and I’ll call you back when we get home.”

“Quarter?” Poncho probably has a calling card.
