Today is a “Wow” for me!!!! I am in awe. The sheer irony of our Nancy defiling the very (wonderful) concept she is praising…… so perfectly expressed. The air balloon poking into Sluggo’s head and his “Ow” shows how Nancy unfortunately (and likely without thinking) broke the beauty of the moment she so enjoyed.
In some ways, I think this extends beyond the idea of the concept of being able to be comfortable in silence with each other as well. The question that comes to mind is, "Does identifying for others the attributes of an interaction of any sort…. have the potential to “soil” or “irrevocably alter” the value of the interaction?"
What a philosophical treat today’s Nancy was!!!!!!!
Leave panels 1 and 3 as is – - panel 2 could have been a close-up of the side of Sluggo’s head, jabbed by Nancy’s word balloon. What’s the real emphasis of the gag, Sluggo’s head jabbed or Nancy’s word balloon?

Nancy should watch where she places her speech bubbles.

And they say speech doesn’t hurt.

Even though her speech bubble entered his head, at least it didn’t enter his brain.

I initially thought Nancy had said the same thing twice. I was expecting Sluggo to say something like, “Please stop talking.”

Like the meditator who stops all thought, then has the thought: “I have stopped all thought.”

You know what’s great about Nancy comics? Anything can happen.

Hate it when my word bubbles do this.

From Eek and Meek many years ago: Well, it was (silent) until you started running off the mouth!

The missing fourth panel dollies even further back to reveal Bugs Bunny at a drawing board, who asks, “Ain’t I a stinker?”
