I’ve never seen a bird eat a worm that crawled out of soaked ground; certainly not here where there are worms all over after recent rains, but not a bird in sight.
On the golf course that i worked at for a time we had a wash pad that all of the equipment was cleaned on.
Worms would surface all around every time i cleaned a larger piece of equipment.
The Roadrunner pair that hunted the course would show up even time. Occasionally i would pick one up and toss it in their general direction. The roadrunner would strut, all dignified like, up to the worm, look at it, and daintily pick it up.
Cats have nothing on Roadrunners when it comes to looking and acting dignified and aloof. XD
