    It is sad that too many alums will look the other way in pursuit of a championship. See Baylor as exhibit A. Then maybe Ohio State. And alums will see to it that a coach is punished if he benches a starter for failing to uphold the standards of his institution. See Charley Strong at The University of Texas. And so it goes and goes.

    Far too many Division 1 college sports programs run the college, not the other way around. Simply absurd that football & basketball coaches make multi-million dollar salaries, while the university president gets several hundred thousand & adjunct profs are on food stamps at many schools! And that doesn’t even include the various endorsement deals the coaches have. Plus whatever they get under the table to allow agents to talk to the players & their parents!
