I’m reminded of a scene from the movie “Foxes”. One of the girls dated an older man & he let them use his house to hang out. They decided to have a private dinner party, but other kids kept showing up and they couldn’t keep them out. The house ended up totally trashed.
Used to be fun – now it’s work – - – beer at a high school party will get the parents a court date – a visit from social services – and possibly in jail – kids charged with Minor In Possession – - – let kids be kids – monitor them so they don’t get too crazy and stupid – but they need to learn before they’re out in the “real” world doing stupid stuff…

I guess ROOT beer and GINGER ale won’t satisfy the upperclassmen’s thirst

“Yes, but if they start smashing furniture, it’s not MY house that’s getting trashed.”

Sounds like people you DO NOT want at your party anyway!

I would never have a party. Go to one yes, putting on one is a job. Never forget that.

I was going to write down something grossly political, but I don’t think I will.
