I pass a “monkey Puzzle” tree every day and still imagine a sauropod chomping on it

We may lose fronds, but you will lose teeth trying to bite into our coconuts. They didn’t call it the Stone Age for nothing.

That one tree may have lost the battle, but the palm trees have won the war. All I have to do is look in my back yard….

Was stationed at Ft Lewis, WA, for a while. You’d be lucky to get that mush sun, daily.

“Bask my fronds” is my new favorite euphemism.

There are two of these trees in my home town. When I was in high school(50th reunion next week) the female produced a couple dozen LARGE cones(30 lbs or more). These fell from the crown with tremendous force, breaking them open. The seeds were very large. Over an inch in all dimensions. The leaves are stiff and sharply pointed.

Must be either a prehistoric left over or another GMO regenerated before the end of large scale human civilization. To fit the Mesozoic climate. NO ice at the poles, heavy water vapors, very very hot. That is what the future we have created here will bring.
