Over on the ‘Dick Tracy’ boards, we lost long-time octogenarian Tracy super-fan Vista Bill Raley not so very long ago.

Careful Walt, Peggy’s still young enough to be your daughter.

Don’t you mean was? She died several years ago. So is that all there is?

So perhaps the real Peggy Lee had somehow come to the attention of the artist as a longtime/lifetime fan, and he has featured her in this arc as a representative tribute to all of us fans for keeping GA (and Walt) alive all these years …?

I just realized that only characters who didn’t die can take up residence in the Old Comics Home. Therefore, no Bill, no Avery, no Doc, and…..no Phillis. And I can’t remember…..what strip was Peggy featured in that brought her to the O.C.H.? And I guarantee that SOMONE will take that question seriously…..

The mystery is solved. Peggy Lee is a super fan who has been reading since Day One, apparently.

“Ode To Vista Bill Raily” 12/17/2017

The shade is drawn, the night is long, the wolves howl looking for the moon. But the moon has set and there is no threat just darkness for the rest will be soon. The cemetery has a new guest. Make him welcome. He is a friend sit down and jest. Life may be over the eternity is always there, ready for all of us some time anywhere. We lost one, what a guy, he will be missed, I feel a tear in my eye. Good night Sweet cow poke we say all that we love about you will not be forgotten by us. A prince of a man was he. RRB
