Come to think of it, was Marcie the first “new” character to come along who just completely and nonchalantly accepted Snoopy as (more or less) an equal despite him being a dog? Because Peppermint Patty was under the impression that he was “a funny-looking kid” for a several years.
This series of strips gives me a craving to play “Ha Ha Herman” with my friends, better known as “Manhunt” in the PA area. I’ll have to think about that one.
So I finally got curious enough to look up HaHa Herman… (with apologies to the OP on another forum) found this: It was invented by his daughters Jill and Amy in Sebastopol, CA, it’s rules are one person hides and the others search as each person finds him or her they hide with them until there is one person left looking, Schultz had the person who hid yell out Ha Ha Herman but his daughters said they yelled Ha Ha and the person hiding yelled Herman, they played it all their lives and later with their children

So we’re just gonna ignore the fact that they spelled “good-bye” wrong?

“When you’re feeling low and everything seems hopeless,” a rousing game of Ha, Ha, Herman is where things really went downhill for Chuck.

Marcie should meet Linus. I think they would be a good match.

Now-a-days, when someone says “I was enjoying it”, you say “I… also was enjoying it”!

You want older spelling? The Brits and Canadians do it.

OK what is ha ha Herman?

I don’t think their rousing game of “Ha Ha Herman” helped Charlie Brown or Peppermint Patty out of feeling low…
