Our intrepid customer is correct but I wouldn’t pay $40 for an LP. What is Spotify anyway?

To correctly create a drum beat takes harmonics that extend well beyond the hearing range. All digital recordings have an effect that provided an upper limit to the harmonics and introduces an error because of rounding at the top which affects the quality of things like drum beats. So a true analog recording will always be better. But with my hearing, it doesn’t really matter.

Yeah. I’m sure it is a “classic.” Like every recording over six months old now.

Exactly what I’ve been thinking about vinyl shops.

I’ve heard that when you digitize something you cut off much of the original sound that was captured in favor of a 1 and 0 as in on and off

This is why I buy my records at Goodwill.

For me, it all boils down to physical storage space. For all the digital music I own or have access, if it were vinyl, I would need to rent a small warehouse. And digital is portable. I can take my entire collection with me when I travel.

Remember! To keep your LP’s from warping, store them between those old phone books & encyclopedias, topped-off with a Betamax!

I find it truly amazing that a mechanical device like a vinyl record could have such amazing sound.

Doesn’t anyone remember the problems with “wow” and “flutter”, not to mention pops and dust when playing records?
