This is after an afternoon of being ‘that little ol’ wine drinker’, Lois Langley.

That is very impressive, Lois. Have you considered joining any of the like-minded Clubs hereabouts?

Lois Langley looks like she’s a happy hedge hopper.

I just hope it’s a happy landing.

You would think she would learn, she always ends up with twigs and leaves in her… um…well…you know.

Lois has always been… well…. I’ll go with “slightly madcap”, as they used to say.

In fact, my mother might have called her a “Good time gal”…

but with no trace of irony, or the sleazy connotation it would have today…

She’s just a hard one to keep down….

I just can’t picture her sitting in a chair, doing needlepoint as a hobby.

No… she’s a bundle of energy…

Marcus is, as Jerry Van A would put it, the more serious of the two….

but he always gives in, eventually, to her playful nature, even when he tries to hold back.

With Susan around, your past is always in view. I had forgotten that Lois has a high-energy history! Her style is unconventional, her footwear not typical of hurdlers, but her gusto makes it work.

She is incredibly limber for her age! Wish I could stretch like that!

I remember a line in a song that goes: It’s not the fall but landing that will alter social standing.

She use to be known as Leaping Lois but her knees gave out so she became Lois the Hedge Hopper.

Whatever keeps you in shape.

They say the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.. The look on Lois’es face would prove that right

At least she’s hopping Happy 3’s hedge and not the infamous Higglepooder Hedge !

The last time Leaping Lois had an urge to hurdle Higglepooder’s hedge, was after she’d hefted a healthy highball or three, at the Tiki and decided to hoist herself over hawthorn hedge that protected the Higglepooder estate ( well, it’s more or a large double lot but don’t tell Hilda Higglepooder that ! ).

Anyway, Lois leapt and launched herself over the bushes like she was an Olympic high hurdler. Unfortunately, ( and anyone familiar with Hawthorns knows this ) the operative part of the name Hawthorn, is thorn and therein hangs the tale… or in this case, Lois Langely’s tail.

While most of Lois cleared the hedge, she left a bit behind.

Leaping Lois Langely was temporarily grounded, and forced to take her meals standing up for a week, but Mrs. Higglepooder was not amused !

What she lacks in form she makes up for in loft.
