It’s simple. The other one costs the manufacturer $382.76 less to make, and it will fail in one-third the time, forcing you to go and buy another cheap piece of junk.
It seems to me that just the opposite is true. Car buying for instance. The same car with lots more bells and whistles cost more, but somehow it is those things that fail first when all I want is a car that starts every time and gets me to where I’m going. All the fancy gizmos are just something else to go wrong and cost me more money.
If they would only sell a simple inexpensive (not cheaply made) car they would sell a million. Pick-up trucks used to be like that and when they became popular they started adding the junk on it. Now they cost $60,000.
The expensive, plain model will break down well within the warranty period, so all you suffer is the hassle of the repair. The cheaper one will work perfectly right up until the day after the warranty expires. Then you have a hassle and expensive decision to make.

Hey Lady, don’t mess up a great sales pitch with a bunch of useless facts.

We bought a dishwasher last year. The cheapest one had the most room and best features and that’s what we got.

This one will work until you are tired of using a museum piece. The other one will last until you use it. I don’t buy disposable major appliances.

If she really needs an explanation, then it won’t be a “mansplanation”

It’s a GE and therefore a piece of crap.

mansplaining is simply a synonym for “male answer syndrome”, which is a by product of learning everything in “shop”

Simple, it’s from off shore and didn’t get a bizzilion $$ bailout and tax break.
