Boy can I ever commiserate with this. I washed our Westie outside because it was hot. He hadn’t even dried before he was rolling in the dirt. Tucked him under my arm dirt and all, went inside, showered and blow dried him. He stayed clean for about another 5 hours before chasing his squirrel pals.
This reminds me of a time I spent an afternoon washing, waxing, and detailing my step-daughters car on a weekend she came home from college. To show her gratitude she drove it down a mile long dirt road….saying it was a short cut to where she was going.
Where is Michael? Shouldn’t Elly be yelling at him too?
Elly’s desire for John to see Farley looking good would have to have been praise for having done it and for having spent $60 to do it. If John approves the groomer’s work, then Elly can foist Farley onto a professional and not have to do it herself. A dirty Farley means Elly is going to have to continue as Farley’s groomer for free (or convince her kids to do it).
Yes, dogs need to go out to do their business. However, you don’t need to just let a newly groomed dog out to get dirty. You take them out, watch them and take them back in when they finish.

Can’t argue child logic.

A dog has to take a dump sometime after the dump nature just takes it’s course and Farley finds something to roll in

There’s more to grooming than mere washing. Just run a hose on him for 5 minutes and then back away quickly.

When the dog says he needs to go out you let him out. The dog will then do whatever he’s going to do. I wouldn’t blame Elizabeth for it.

With all that screaming Elly does at everything, she should have had her funeral by now. No one can have that kind of blood pressure and live.

If you don’t want to bother having to groom your dog, get a dog that is more low maintenance.

Hose him down and get some towels. After all, it’s just mud.

Dogs have to go out. They’re not going to stay pretty for long.

All dogs have to “go” sometimes….even when it’s raining…..if Farley peed on the floor you’d be more upset.

Better yet: donʻt propose a question to a kid if you donʻt really want to hear their answer. LOL!

Having an active and curious dog is like having an active and curious child. Perhaps she has heard of Dennis or maybe Pigpen?
