I don’t recall any of my dogs every burying anything either! But I used to be amused watching squirrels in the yard. I fed them peanuts. One would take a peanut, bury it, run off, and then about 5 minutes later, dig it up and bury it somewhere else! Fortunately, squirrels dig small holes, and the yard did not suffer unduly.
