There are people who would rant and rave about how awful it is if Red had his face glued to a cell phone or a tablet, but if it’s a comic book, somehow it’s okay.
In previous generations, people were just as glued to their newspapers and magazines. Technology changes; people don’t.
You can walk and read a book, but you can’t walk and read a newspaper…at least, not easily. The problem is in; books improve your mind, newspapers inform your mind and social media stupifies your mind! And, there was quite a war against comic books, led by teachers and parents, because comic books rot your mind!
Moving along the freeway, floods, hail, tornadoes, cyclones, etc are not what worried me. It was bathrobes and towels swapped for daily wear. Newspapers hiding windows, windshields and mirrors. Makeup and books. Occasionally more rubble than available in the living room.
