I used to always get mom with the ‘can I please finish the level first before I go to bed’ line. Sports were even better. Two minutes left in the game = 20 real time minutes. Overtime was a bonus.
In my second tour of college in the 90s, I started playing MUD games. Those were to MMORGs as radio was to TV. These days I like turn-based strategy games. One I like is Free Orion, an open-source game.
I’ve been on those sorts of teams. On TOR, I had one where our ‘tank’ thought he was a tank, but I was pretty sure he wasn’t the right sub-class. He took damage about as fast as our DPS characters. Meanwhile, I’m the healer trying to keep everyone running. It didn’t end well.

Procrastination is procrastination no mater how one goes about it.

Oh my! His shaman is doing the most DPS? Considering the state shamans are in right now, that is really bad!

Enjoy it while it lasts, Jason. She’ll catch on to the stalling tactic soon enough.

No “pause” button, Jason? Humm?

My mom never fell for that. There are some downsides to being raised in a gaming household.
