Be careful what you wish for, boy.

Right here is the moment where you unplug the TV, then tell him to take out the trash, do his homework, eat dinner, and then go to bed. Was always the way of life when I was a kid. Homework came first, chores second, and fun always was last. If I wanted more time to play, get my other stuff done first. Worked great until teachers started realizing it was far easier to teach their class if they barely discussed what we were supposed to do, then each class gave an hour of homework…

Your kids are grown, when they appreciate the vitriolic sarcasm by unscathedly retorting in taunting irony. Toby might still have to grow some more until he will remind them that it will be him in some years who’ll decide on their nursing home.

Toby needs a good VR coffin. No more cluttered living-room.

Put him on the 10 yard line and go for a field goal!

So will they go to the silent/ignore him until he gets it and does things without having to be told?

Sorry — positive reinforcement is done AFTER the deed, not before the deed!
