Tell that to one of the big forest fires. If you don’t burn it in your wood stove or fireplace then sooner or later it will just burn in a forest fire.
I had a similar discussion with my brother once when he insisted on only financially supporting (meaning purchasing from) companies that he aligned with politically and morally. I first started with the clothes he was wearing and before too long we got to the companies who made the materials in the house he was living. My point was that it’s pretty hard to live a comfortable life if you insist on only buying items from certain companies. Even those who will only buy American-made have items in their home that are clearly “Made in China” that they’ll overlook in return for some luxury.
