If you must ship something fragile just use real popcorn, plain, and enclose a note saying “For your feathered friends.” Much less expensive than plastic peanuts.
It follows the thinking of a lot of environmental activists. Travel by jet and add a large amount of pollutants to the air to give a message on how much we are destroying our planet. Isn’t it interesting on how groups like Greenpeace use modern equipment like scuba gear to protest our use of petrochemicals.
I remember many moons ago the company I worked for was concerned about paper being wasted. They put a notice and then gave everyone a copy of it. So much for paper conservation!
